316L stainless steel powder is a molybdenum-containing, low-carbon austenitic stainless steel powder with excellent corrosion resistance. It is a high-performance metal material used in advanced processes such as additive manufacturing and injection molding.
We offer high sphericity 316L stainless steel powder in various particle sizes, and customization is supported. Please contact us to find the right technical solution for you.
Superior corrosion resistance
High sphericity and flowability
Low oxygen content and stable performance
Multiple particle size options
High-end medical devices: Due to its good biocompatibility and easy sterilization properties, it is widely used in the manufacture of surgical instruments and human implants, ensuring safety and reliability.
Chemical and marine equipment: The addition of molybdenum significantly enhances its resistance to acid and chloride ion corrosion, making it an ideal material for chemical containers, marine platform components, and marine equipment.
Consumer goods and precision parts: Excellent machinability and gloss make it suitable for manufacturing high-end watches, eyeglass frames, and complex precision parts produced through metal injection molding (MIM) processes.
Food and Energy Industries: Meets the hygiene and corrosion resistance requirements of food processing equipment, and is also used for high-temperature and corrosion-resistant components in the energy and paper industries.
Q1: What processes are different particle sizes of 316L stainless steel powder used for?
A1: Generally, 0-25μm is suitable for metal injection molding (MIM), 15-53μm is suitable for laser 3D printing, and 45-105μm and coarser powders are mostly used in thermal spraying and other fields.
Q2: Why is the “oxygen content” index of the powder important?
A2: Oxygen content directly affects the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the final part. Our powder is controlled through advanced processes, and the oxygen content is usually below 650ppm, ensuring stable performance.
Q3: Can the powder be reused?
A3: It can be recycled under controlled conditions, but repeated use may lead to changes in powder particle size and an increase in oxygen content. It is recommended to monitor performance and control the number of cycles.
Q4: How should unused 316L stainless steel powder be stored?
A4: It is recommended to store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container. We usually use vacuum or inert gas packaging. Please use as soon as possible after opening or reseal.
